Atlas Technical Conference on Accelerated Ageing and Evaluation (ATCAE)
Event Information
Atlas Material Testing Technology is pleased to announce dates for its next Atlas Technical Conference on Ageing and Evaluation (ATCAE). This, the 4th ATCAE will focus on the durability of materials, components, and systems for the solar energy industry. It will take place December 8th and 9h at the Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs Resort in Phoenix, Arizona.
The solar energy market has grown tremendously in the last few years. Various materials such as glass, plastics, polymers, sealants, and metals are used to build PV modules, concentrating dishes and other systems to convert solar into thermal or electrical energy. These systems are typically expected to last 20, 30, or even 40 years. Hence, appropriate accelerated testing of the long-term durability of individual components as well as the complete system is crucial in product development, quality control, and certification testing.
Over the many years that Atlas has been active in the solar energy industry Atlas’ technical staff has collaborated with and become associated with many industry experts in the area of durability testing. Atlas will utilize its unique position in the industry to convene industry experts in Phoenix, AZ for a two-day conference on the latest developments, research, and innovative approaches to address solar durability and efficiency testing. During the conference, participants will hear from and interact with speakers from the solar energy industry. The following are confirmed as speakers:
Mr. Kent Whitfield, Miasole
Dr. James E. Pickett, GE Global Research
Dr. Norbert Henze, Institute for Solar Energy Technology (ISET)
Mr. Dieter Haus, Weiss Umwelttechnik
Dr. Sarah Kurtz, National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL)
Dr. Mike Kempe, NREL
Dr. Richard Fischer, 3M (Retired)
Mr. William Murray, Medtronic
Dr. Michael Köhl, Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems (ISE)
An optional tour of Atlas’ Solar Test Center of Excellence is also planned for conference participants.
