Atlas Now Offers Free Online Fundamentals of Weathering Seminars!

Attend this five-part online seminar series on the Fundamentals of Weathering and other related topics. Seminar and registration details:

Atlas is pleased to introduce a new five-part live online seminar series that will begin in February 2017.

Who Should Attend?

These live webinars introduce the fundamentals of natural and accelerated weathering and are ideal for those involved with designing, evaluating, specifying, selling, or purchasing materials or products that could be affected by exposure to solar radiation or weather. This includes materials engineers, product managers, marketing and sales managers, R & D personnel and formulation chemists or anyone needing to understand weatherability and its effect on materials performance.

Each session will be one hour in length addressing the following topics:

Part 1: Factors of Weathering - This seminar addresses the influences of weather, i.e.solar radiation, temperature, and moisture on materials including how are they measured and how their impact can be estimated.

Part 2: Outdoor Weathering - This seminar addresses the fundamentals of natural weathering. This includes static exposures in different reference climate zones, as well as various outdoor accelerated test methods.

Part 3: Laboratory Weathering - This seminar addresses different kinds of weathering laboratory instruments, various lamp types and their spectral irradiance distribution, as well as choosing the right instrument for various applications.

Part 4: Weathering Testing and Basic Standards - This seminar addresses how environmental stress factors are translated into artificial weathering test cycles and the purpose of standards for weathering testing. Examples are given on the most common test methods for automotive, textiles, coatings, and other applications.

Part 5: Acceleration and Correlation - This seminar addresses the principles of how to accelerate weathering tests and what has to be considered to avoid unrealistic results. Mathematical/statistical procedures are described on how to compare and how to validate weathering results from different exposures.

Each part in the series will broadcast on four different dates and times to allow attendees from all over the world to participate. The webinars are free of charge, but preliminary registration is required.  To register to attend, view the seminar schedule below and simply click on the appropriate dates for each seminar you wish to attend in order to complete your registration for that event. Once you complete your registration(s), you will then receive e-mail confirmation for your attendance.
